  1. Type: Virtual Lab.
    Language: English
    Author: REX web farm
Description: The purpose of this ContLab is to introduce free virtual laboratories (Java applets) presenting advanced control algorithms for automation and robotics. Using these interactive tools, you can learn a lot about PID control and autotuning, predictive control, sliding mode control, vibration damping, motion control, etc. The applets can be used for all educational, RTD and commercial purposes. ContLab is a cornerstone of REX web farm.

  4. Type: Software Tool, Virtual Lab
    Language: English
Author: IEEE CSS - TC on Computer Aided Control System Design, Herman Mann
Description: DYNAST is a software package for efficient and easy modeling, simulation and analysis of multidisciplinary nonlinear dynamic systems. Dynamic multipole models that can be set up in DYNAST in a graphical form characterize directly the real configuration of dynamic systems. The multipole models, however, can be combined with equations and block diagrams. DYNAST not only solves nonlinear algebro-differential equations, but also automatically formulates them for the multipole models. So there is no need to form any equations, block diagrams, or bond graphs. DYNAST is also able to linearize the models and to provide their semisymbolic analysis in time- and frequency-domains. In the web site, also solved examples and a course on dynamics of control systems are accessible

  5. Type: Web course, Virtual Lab, Video/animation.
    Language: English,Portuguese
Author: Paulo Moura Oliveira, Carlos Mendes, Luís Iria, E. J. Solteiro Pires, J. Boaventura Cunha, Elton Matias (Univ. De Tras Os Montes E Alto Douro)
Description: The overall objective of this internet-based tool is to provide fundamental aspects regarding GRAFCET presented with animated examples, promoting students self-learning. While originally this tool was developed to be used by Portuguese speakers, now it is also available in English. A very important feature of e-GRACFCET+, is to be prepared to work on most devices regardless of operating systems and screen sizes, such as smart-phones and tablets.

    Language: English
Author: Edward Kamen, Bonnie Heck (Georgia Institute of Technology)
Description: Applets designed as an aid to the study of certain aspects of the theory of continuous and discrete signals and systems (Fourier transform, convolution, filtering, sampling, aliasing, etc.) explained in the book Signal and Sytems. Also there are experiments for control theory like poles placement, root locus, or relation between frequency an time.

  7. Type: Repository
    Language: English
    Author: IFAC, B. Pasik-Duncan, S. Dormido, A. Rossiter, L. Vlacic
Description: The IFAC Control Resources (ICR) Publications provide the wide range of control and non-control communities the opportunity to explore the world of control, a field that spans beautifully and powerfully science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). The purpose of the IRC Publications is to engage junior and senior researchers in the learning and teaching process through discovering new ideas and bringing the history of control resources together. The IRC includes downloadable materials as well as links to different kind of resources as virtual laboratories, databases, publications, etc. It also provides a good reference about the history of Control.

Description: KivaNS (Kiva Network Simulator) is a free and open source Java based application which allows user to design data network schemes and to simulate the IP routing through these networks. In contrast with the majority of available free simulation applications, which are designed to evaluate throughput of the specifics protocols, the main aims of KivaNS are simulate how IP works, and, specially, study the different techniques to route the data packets through different network technologies.

    Language: English
    Author: Conrad Braam
Description: Modbus PLC Simulator is a graphical application that simulates a Modbus slave or server, and it is a very useful program for developing, testing and learning automation and SCADA/HMI applications working with Modbus protocols, without the necessity of real devices. It supports Modbus RTU and TCP/IP protocols, simulates AllenBradley DF1 slave and master, and supports VBA/Java scripting. The application is available for free download (GPL license), and open source. Documentation for users and developers also are available in the web.
